Sophia McDuffee received her B.S. in Biological Sciences from the University of Tennessee in 2022, with a concentration in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She is now a Ph.D. student in Plant Pathology at the University of Florida, and currently works on bacterial leaf spot (BLS) of pepper and tomato. Her research interests involve bacterial competition, bacteriocin production, and breeding disease resistance.
