I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Florida. My ongoing research focuses on utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 technology to develop disease-resistant tomato plants against Xanthomonas spp., identifying and mapping disease-resistance genes, and analyzing the effects of pyramiding disease resistance genes in peppers. My work also delves into dissecting the mutation, rearrangement, and host adaptability of Transcription Activator-like Effectors in Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri that target susceptibility genes in citrus. Besides, I use bioinformatics analysis to understand the pathogen's genetic diversity.
