Dr. James Buck is a Professor in the UGA Department of Plant Pathology on the Griffin Campus. His research program focuses on fungal diseases of wheat, soybean and ornamental plants. Dr. Buck also collaborates with wheat and soybean breeders to develop high yielding, pest and disease resistant gemplasm adapted to the Southeast. Dr. Buck has published on the effects of foliar disease and fungicides on epiphytic yeast populations of turgrasses. He obtained his PhD in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Wisconsin working on adhesion of a biocontrol yeast.
