An Agronomist with a Master's degree in Agricultural Sciences-Phytopathology from the National University of Colombia, a Ph.D. in Agricultural Sciences-Biomodeling from the National University of Colombia and The University of Kansas, and a postdoctoral fellowship in Plant Disease Epidemiological Modeling developed at the Sugarcane Research Center in Colombia (Cenicaña). Currently a professor-researcher at the National University of Colombia, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Bogotá campus.
