A growing chorus in the realms of conservation and sustainability have called for us to collectively look to the wisdom of Indigenous Peoples to get humanity to live in better balance with our planet. While many would agree with this sentiment, finding tangible examples of how to do this are often hard to find. By looking to the eco-civilizations of the past, such as the one that once existed here in Hawaii, those ellusive tangible examples can be found. This talk will look at some of the values, philosophies, and worldviews of the Hawaiian eco-civilization that can help us to build a future where humanity exists as as a global eco-vilization.
